Even if your robot is disconnected from the battery, the water on the printed circuit boards can react with some substances on the board itself or in the components, or simply leave a trace of salt enough to short circuit.
The only way to clean the vacuum cleaner and avoid repairs is to wipe it off with a soft cloth or kitchen paper towel. It is strongly not recommended to disassemble the robot for deep cleaning. Better to let a professional do it.
